The project, which began at the DP World Terminal on Barnabé Island in Santos, São Paulo, involved driving 1,372 precast piles, 897 of which were Ø 420 mm and 475 of which were Ø 330 mm, to an average depth of 40 meters. The estimated completion time was four months, and the work involved the use of equipment such as PM25H, PM26, PM20, PMX24, and PM25-1545, as well as a specialized team of managers, operators, and assistants.
During construction, the project faced typical challenges of a port terminal, such as the logistics of mobilizing equipment and the need for technical adjustments due to underground interference. Despite some setbacks, the project was executed efficiently, utilizing alternative strategies to optimize production, such as the use of hydraulic excavators for rock removal, which ensured a pile failure rate of less than 1%. The team met production targets, and the project was successfully completed within the agreed schedule.
